Torrevecchia’s beating heart is the farm with livestock and the farm. Originally the Masseria was the colonial houses of large landowners. The farms that, administered by massari, were based on a virtuous circle of self-subsistence included stables, depots for the supply of cereals and even the accommodation of those who cultivated the land. That function was recovered by building, within walking distance from the old one, a new farmhouse with adjoining the farm, the dairy and the Crusher.
Farm
Spread over 200 hectares, the company, it develops into a rich variety of cereal crops, for the supply of sheep, cattle, goats, pigs and poultry, ensuring a full control of the entire supply chain from animal feed.
Walking through the company you will be captivated by the magnificence of the olive groves, whose olives pressed in the estate mill, give the precious gold of Puglia: the oil. Emblem of the Salento countryside with olive groves and Negroamaro, Primitivo’ vineyards and other varieties whose beauty radiates an atmosphere reluctant to forget.
